Pediatric cancer patients and their families will be invited to spend time with a local artist who will be sharing his/her talent. Each month Sofia’s Hope in conjunction with ClayWorld will expose these children to a different medium in the hopes it will inspire creativity and help each child focus on something beautiful rather than on the ugliness of being ill and undergoing treatment.

While this time cannot be considered art therapy, we believe the time these children spend with each artist eases their suffering if even for a little while.

The program is being offered twice a month at Baptist Children’s Hospital as well as once a month in BCH’s Hematology/Oncology Clinic.  Currently in talks to expand the program to UM/Jackson’s Hem/Onc Clinic.
